Lookout! Chicken Little is coming in the dish near you… 2D Barcode 的世界

Paul Guyot presented the Einstein Plateform in the 2006 Newton Conference on Jan 12 2006. He showed off the Apple Newton OS that can now be run on a linux based PDA that supports X11. Do we see the reborn of the Newton PDAs? I am eagerly and happy to see it come in the near future! You all remember the Newtons back in the 90s. Although I dont actually owned one, I’ve played on a colleague’s [huge] Newton PDA a few years ago. One feature that still impressed me is the handwriting recognition system (named Calligrapher?). I remembered that you could scratch or mark carets anywhere on the touch screen to delete words or insert words (respectively) just like what you would do on a piece of paper. You can even draw shapes as well.

However the Newton died eventually. Apparently reading from the NewtonOS wiki people had critics about its price, its size, its synchronization issues, and its programming environment etc.
